Newspapers on the flight home

On my flight back from Mexico City, I had two layovers, one in Dallas and one in Orange County (near Los Angeles).

In Dallas, I read an editorial in the newspaper which reminded me that Mexicans are not the only ones disturbed by "American-style" spring break -- there are plenty of Americans who are just as baffled by its growing popularity. The piece also talks a bit about something I don't know that we get into much (& I don't know that we should) -- how much it says about American culture that college kids go to another country to do their partying. Really, the #1 reason they go to Mexico is because they can't legally drink in the U.S. It's a weird issue but mostly I thought it was interesting to hear an American perspective on it. Here it is: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/opinion/viewpoints/stories/DN-daum_22edi.ART.State.Edition1.461fea9.html

And then in the Santa Ana, California airport (I kid you not, it's called the John Wayne International Airport), I picked up the LA Times and read this article about Mexico City's fake beaches! Here it is: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-fakebeach22mar22,1,6865472.story

I also read a great article in the LA Times about the woman who is the mayor of Pomona, California, originally from Guatemala. Man, we really need to take Dos Pueblos to LA. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-profile22mar22,1,5505073.story

Muy interesante!

In Mexico now

The blog looks beautiful, I realize that many of the performers haven;t seen the kickass design ideas floating around. Excited to share them.
All of the performers and directors are in Mexico City now, its wonderful hear and weve begun the next phase of work. I will try to post any photos and ideas as we work.
Already a new type of work is going on...I will share it¡
And the city, the nighttime parties in the open air...the dinner party at Ruben;s apartment is not so bad.
